It's Party Time!

Now for the grand finale, what this week was all about--Nanna's 80th birthday party! We pretty much fooled her completely into thinking that a family celebration was planned for the Monday, so when we were all there at the Sunday brunch in Burlington, she was big time surprised! Here are some scenes from Mother Tucker's:

The food was great, so we all 'tucked in' but I'm not sure what was wrong with Kate's steak!
The balloons were a source of good fun:

It was great for the cousins to get together...but I think John and Jess were plotting activities for later!

Later, back at Jane's, we gave Nanna the chance to wish BIG on her birthday cake. What a great party!

The party even featured an appearance by (most of) the handy 'paua girls'! Sorry you didn't make it into this pic, Jessie.

Happy Birthday, dear Mum! Hope you liked your party! We love you! Jane, Drew, and Ruth XXX

Psst... Let's do it all again next year for Dad's 80th!

It's all about the grandkids...

Still on Saturday, we enjoyed watching Alex and Leah interact with each other and all their aunts and uncles, with time out for baths and naps...

In the afternoon, Jessie and Alex took Adam and Caitlin back to Kitchener for a visit with the Arnold side of the clan, while we just continued to play with Leah: in the garden, with the dogs, on the dock, looking in, toddling about, and just generally having a good laugh...

Back in Lakeside

We got back home on Thursday night, and on Friday night everyone else arrived: John and Jess, Kate, Leah, Ellen, Adam, and Caitlin. On Saturday Jessie and Alex came by for brunch and we got in a photo session with the whole gang. Here are some of the best:
We also managed to snap a glimpse of that rare but famous Sturgeon kitchen dance mysteriously known as "adjusting the gathers"! Apparently the ability is genetic!
